Roshantha Kariyapperuma's brother, Priyantha Kariyapperuma, is the former Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRC). Roshantha is married to Sangeetha Weeraratne, a prominent Sri Lankan actress.
